Spinal tape
For a while I thought Spinal Tap was a real band. The actors did reform after the "mockumentary" to release a few songs but before that the band was purely fictional. A case of art imitating life and life imitating art.
The "spinal tape" though, is hilarious :)

Metallica!
Been there, done that (twice) got the t-shirt.
Yeah! Metallica rocked out at Soccer City on Freedom Day 2013. Big Concerts screwed up with opening the gates too late and have too few check in points. Missed the opening act and queued forever. You would think that they would have gotten this right by now. The metal kids were remarkably well behaved and did not riot.
But the concert itself made up for all that pain as Metallica played their asses off and chatted to the crowd like all round nice guys.
It may have been too cold move, but awesome times were still had.
Shots from our seats: happy Metallica filled lights...
And plenty of flames and fireworks.

A Few of My Favourite Things
As I write this post, the song from the "Sound of Music" rings in my head.
Lemon Slices with warm water : a favourite amongst the twilight crowd (and by this I mean people over 60). Warm water and lemon is good for killing germs and makes your blood more basic than acidic, which leads to better health and general well being. It also keeps your skin clear and promotes the breakdown of fats (this I read in Men's Health). One caveat is that too much is bad for your teeth, and with this I advocate moderation. I often go out for drinks with my friends and order a cappuchino with a warm water and lemon on the side whilst my friends are having lemons on the sides of their tequilas. Do I feel old: no, I feel happy, healthy and full of vigour. Especially during winter when my trusty lemons helps me fight off those nasty colds! Try it folks!!!

80's Child: VW Ad Song
I am an 80's child. I was born in South Africa during the 1980's and experienced all that was during that time. My heart fills with joy and nostalgia every time I hear certain songs or see cartoons I watched when I was a child on tv. If you were old enough in 1992 to watch a certain VW ad you can share this nostalgic moment.
Andre'; de Villiers - Memories
I remember the days of my life
I recall the faces- mostly yours
Magic moments – life was a mystery
There’s no place on earth that- we’d rather be
Moving up – going through some changes
Storing up the memories
Can you give me the light of my life?
I always gave the best I could give
Bridge
Sometimes it never seemed like enough
Though we never quit when- the going got tough
Do you remember the way it used to be?
Never counting cost – was a matter of trust
Covenant cut – were lovers for life
I still bear the scar – you used to carry the knife
I remember the days of my life
I recall the faces- mostly yours
Magic moments – life still a mystery
There’s no place on the earth that- we’d rather be
This is my life
And I’m passing on the
Memories
